Hi,

I am not sure where to turn, so will try this support group in hope that I
can be pointed to some resources that could help with my problem, or perhaps
someone in the group could give me some advise.

I have a website www.encounterzanzibar.com which I designed with not much
web experience. We always used to be on the first page of results for a
general keyword "zanzibar". Today I checked on Google and see that we are
now on the 9th page somewhere. I know that our content is good, but have no
idea why we have fallen so badly.

It appears to be a problem for a lot of websites, but I cannot seem to find
any information which could guide me on how to rectify this. Google's own
section is not very helpful or useful.

I would be most appreciative if you could let me have your comments and
advice.

Many thanks

Rodger

You should make sure that you have some meta tags on the pages you want
indexed. Meta tags inform search bots about the general content of the site.

Here is a tool that can generate the meta tag code for you:

You can also get listed on dmoz (find a category and submit your url),
which Google pulls data from. Directory listings tend to get decent
listing status. However, your site needs good content to be accepted by
the dmoz editors.

I hope this was helpful.
