In the past, to use Google Desktop I easily accessed it from a couple of
icons on my computer or on Google's home page. Now things have changed.
When I try to use it now, my firewall warns me that it is trying to access
the internet. When I deny it permission (I see no reason Google Desktop
must go on the net to find information in my files, so I am too worried to
allow it) it does not work.
Why is Desktop internet access now necessary, when it wasn't before?
