Default Google Preferences "Open search results in a new browser window" - 06-04-2007, 05:56 AM

In the past when I selected this preference and then selected a site
from the Google search results page, a new window would open with the
site that I selected. If I chose a different site from the original
list the newly opened window would change to the new selection. With
every new selection the "new" window would move to the new site.

Recently I had to install a new motherboard and hard drive to my PC
and the above proceedure no longer works. Selecting a site from a list
does open a new window, however, choosing a second or third site from
the list does nothing. The original selection remains unchanged. The
only way I can move to a 2nd selection is by closing the 2nd window
and selecting again.

Anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?

Thank you.

it could be down to the defaults in your browser.

For example in Sea Monkey, preferences/Navigator/tabbed browsing
will take you to the option to set how the browser responds to
a new link; with the options being, a new window, a new tab or
the same window.
