Default Just Garbage ! - 06-04-2007, 04:45 AM

Hi All

Just a comment to say what a complete total waste of space Google is.
One of my websites is ranked FIRST on just about every single keyword
on MSN.COM, is listed on 'Ask Jeeves' and 'Yahoo' .

It does even have a single page cached on Google, what a joke. Using
the 'web tools' it says there is no errors and is crawled ok. MY site
is just about the ONLY type of it's content on the Internet and has a
huge amount of content. Also Google says there are no links to it which
is also rubbish.

I had all this 'trouble' with one of my other sites on Google but that
is now (After 2 years !) ranked ok. My third site is also not ranked on
Goole yet is also ranked highly on MSN,Yahoo and Asl Jeeves.

Google is a complete total and utter bucket of 'bleep bleep' and a
waste of space.Easily the worst search engine on the net.

Oh well thats my 'rant' over with.

I HATE Google.

Best regards
Andy :-)

duh? Google is a different company/search engine than the others!!!
What makes you think that its a "right" that just because any sites
ranks well in one search engine, that it should automatically rank well
in another?

This response is given for you consideration.
You might like to start again in a different manner. You say your site
is .. "The ONLY one of its type of content on the net with a huge
amount of content". I sympathise with that because I had the same
problem. I was given a lot of support from the webmasters here, and
with their help, plus a lot of hard work and research, overcame the
problems. If I understand your problem correctly, and if you research
through the archives, you will find many answers. First. Google is most
suited to vertical markets. It is not suited to horizontal markets. The
best example of this is a post many months ago (which you can search
for) which posed the question how would you achieve a high ranking and
serps for a "chinese restaurant" or a "funeral parlour" on google. The
simple answer is you can't. The google PageRank system is not suited to
sites in a flat environment. While that can be overcome, it doesn't
happen on its own. In fact you are at a distinct disadvantage. To
overcome that will require 20 times the amount of work compared to a
site that exists in a vertical environment. From what I have seen some
seo's got around that by common linking of all their clients web sites
to achieve a ranking or web-presence. But the current google index
algorithms are now smart enough to undermine attempts to link
dissimilar sites. I hope this gives you sufficient info to enable you
to begin asking the right questions (of yourself) and to begin
researching in the right places. Best of luck.

MSN is a lot more responsive to link building campaigns than Google.
You can get #1 ranking quickly on MSN by buying a boatload of text
links containing your keywords. For Google, it just takes more time.
I'd focus on building a site with great content while doing some SEO to
go along with the content development....you'd be surprised when
everything, Google rankings included, falls into place in the end.

Hi All

Thanks for the replies...

'What makes you think that its a "right" that just because any sites
ranks well in one search engine, that it should automatically rank well

in another?'

Because the 'majority' is not often wrong , the 3 biggest search
engines list my site and yet Google does not DUH ! Also I would point
out one of my site that isn't listed on Google has a HIGH page ranking
in it's OWN Toolbar ranking system..what a joke !

'You can get #1 ranking quickly on MSN by buying a boatload of text
links containing your keywords'

I understand what you mean here but maybe I gave out the wrong 'idea'.
I am not into any of that utter 'webmaster' garbage of getting loads of
links and traffic to my site.I want people that are interested in them
and want to enjoy them not put up my page counter.ALL my sites are
free, I am not selling anything.Just giving away some 'fun'..
hopefully...
I just have a few HIGH quality links ;-)

Thanks for your detailed info 'apparition' I understand what you mean
and I am sure you are totally correct, but I don't think it really
applies to me at all.

I really don't mean to be rude/sound rude to any of you but I feel you
are all seriously 'missing the point'
Google is advertised as supplying the MOST accurate and usefull links
available from ANY search engine.Thats the 'whole point' to get people
to use it and so they can sell advertising.THEY say, not me, that they
use hundreds of different criteria to evaluate a site for quality. If
this was true everything about what does or doesn't link to your site
should be totally irelevant.Google themselves say everywhere, how do
you improve your search rankings...get good quality links to your
site.Again what the hell as this got to do with the quality of a
particular site, SWEET FA (excuse my french) As long as a particular
site can be 'trawled' ok then it's either good enough to rank or it's
not, END OF STORY.Any way as I said I do have some good quality links
to it !!

My site is of extremely high content, lots of it, easy to use, has
great feedback, and is very nearly 'one of a kind'
Therefore if someone was searching for what I offer they would only get
garbage results, where is the quality search engine know ?

I would also like to point out that Google returns 'high quality'
search results under keyword types relevant to my site that are FULL of
SPYWARE & VIRUS's.Hey but they don't give a damn because they carry
Google adsenese, surprise surprise !

Many thanks for kindly taking the time to reply, as you can see it
didn't ease my frustration in Google at all though !

Kind regards
Google 'Hater'

Andy :-)

'is not suited to sites in a flat environment'

sorry i could not find the thread from months ago. What is a flat
environment and what exactly is a horizonatal or vertical market?

"Google is advertised as supplying the MOST accurate and usefull links
available from ANY search engine."

That's correct. Google's algorithm is based MAINLY on links. Do you
have enough relevant links pointing to your site? If not, you'll never
rank high. Yahoo and MSN are more content based. Also the keyword
density can be higher for yahoo and msn than for google.

seo10, this is for you:

It is true that link relevance does not appear in the ecuation for
calculating PageRank, but Google also analyzes the page that cast os
vote. How else do you explain that sites linked to bad neighbors are
getting banned? Let's make it clear: google has changed its algorithms
many times. While a link from A to B is still a vote, votes from
"important" sites A weight heavy and increase the importance of the
site B. Quality sites receive a higher PR. Google needs to scan the
content of a site as well to display RELEVANT results for a certain
query. If you think linking to real estate sites when what you sell is
toys, go ahead, let's see if that really improves your ranking. And if
it does... how many do you need? And why would you, a SEO, waste your
clients' time by sending them to unrelated websites?

Google is highly user oriented. Google wants users to find quality
results for their searches. So Google does care about link relevance...
