I started using the personalized Google home page recently. It's great
accept for one thing. The load time is extremely slow! It takes
upwards of 10 seconds for the page to load. I would think I have some
pretty basic content on my page. I have about 12-14 news modules and a
few other modules like weather for a couple cities, Google Reader,
GMail and stock market pulling in 9 stocks.

Is the page just slow, do I have above average modules on the page or
is there something I can do to speed it? It's slower then pages from
MSN and Yahoo who dump a ton of ads all over the page.

I have the same. After adding the Google Calendar to my page Gmail
takes at least five seconds to show up, or not at all.

Hi. We just switched to gmail and google as our home page as well.
I'm also curious about why the home page is so slow. We have dsl and
our sbc pages load very quickly.
