| problem with Google Maps/Earth -

I love everything googley. I use g-mail exclusively, and google maps
has recently become my favorite for getting directions.
One problem with Google Maps (and Google Earth too). Each satellite
photo is a square, showing a certain square area of land. However,
some satellite-squares are completely obscured by GREEN. This happens
when there's a major park nearby. I think Google wants to indicate
that "there's a park over here," but the green square takes up the
ENTIRE area, obscuring everything underneath.
So, for my zip code (11552), there's a giant green square over my
neighborhood, and I can't see any of the streets, houses, buildings,
etc. It really sucks. My house is off of N***au Blvd, and is totally
within the green square. Very annoying.
If there's a way to get rid of those squares from the client computer,
please tell me. I don't think there is. I think that it should be
pretty easy for google to correct this... just stop putting those damn
green squares on the maps!!! Or at least make it optional!
