I submited my site to the google index. However, now that I search for
it, it comes up, but shows only the website name.

So I'm wondering how to make it say, for example, Blah Blah Blah -
Welcome! Blah blah blah blah blah...

Can you help me?

Partially indexed web sites don't have a description:

http://www.google.com/webmasters/3.html

Get incoming links from web pages already indexed by Google, so Google
will think your web site is important enough to get indexed by Google
more permanently.
