I think you should add a feature to EXCLUDE roads that allow travel at
a certain speed or above. This would presumably allow one to get
bicycle travel directions from google maps. For example, then a
hot-button could be added that requests directions on roads where
speeds are 45 mph or less. This would most likely exclude freeways,
and would be perfect for bicycle travel.
Later, if there are freeways with bike lanes (very few), they might be
exploited, but we need this feature NOW !!!
I guess those people with Ferrari C30's (google maps developers?) could
query the maps for roads with a speed ABOVE 60 mph ??? It would be
interesting.
I have been waiting and asking for a feature like this from the
mainstream web-map programs for years.
