If I kill a spammer and feed the corpse to my cats,
is that murder or just self-defence?

In my opionion, it's self-defence, because the spammer
invaded my web, and as the webmaster I have
the right to shoot any invader with my shotgun.

What you're asking isn't whether it is murder. Killing someone is murder,
no matter why you do it, IMO.

What you're asking is whether it is justified. IMO, it is just as justified
to kill a spammer as it would be to kill a cross-posting wannabe troll.

In these times ethic standards are quite funny.
You can find persons that without the blink of an eye may say that sex
is an offence upon the gods, but that stoning the offender or planning
an attack to slaughter a few thousands is of the highest virtue.

I guess that this morality is common: ******ination can be condoned any
time, all the more if performed taking care to make it as hideous as
possible: it's just all the rest that can't be condoned.
