They ain't kidding. Something I downloaded on my daughter's computer
came secretly equipped with a horrible pest called the "Google toolbar".
I still haven't figured out how to get rid of it.

That's just one of the many reasons I'm pleased I don't have any form of
Windows on my own computer.

Really? It is the most useful add-on I have, and the first thing I
install when building a new PC.

If you have Windows, removing that toolbar is very easy.

Had MS put its "Add or Remove Programs" someplace more prominent than
inside the Control Panel, there might be fewer complaints about annoying
programs.

Sorry, I agree with David. Google Toolbar is the most useful extension
I have. And you can turn off the tracking.

Also, please document where they are specifically "illegal" in most
corporate environments. I deal with some very large corporations (i.e.
Fortune 500), and non of them I work with prohibit it's use.
