In your opinion, what is the best free forum software? In my opinion it would be a tie between SMF and phpBB. I have been having trouble with phpBB3 recently but I am remaining faithful. Besides my forum members are used to it |

We are very happy with myBB, and our forum is one of the biggest that they have using their software. It is easy to use and very stylish looking. |

I have only really used phpbb personally, I've taken a look at SMF as well as VB (I know it's free). I did take a look at Stav's site and phpbb looked like a nice clean software to use too. I think that once you get used to something, it usually turns into your favorite. |

I only just upgrade my forum to phpbb3 after years of phpbb2 in the last two of three days. Some of them were not very happy due to the drastic appearance changes but the skin seems to be growing on them and I moved the avatar and the user information back on to the left instead of the right and they seem to be getting used to it. phpBB is the way to go in my opinion. I'd sooner use that over half the paid forum software out there. |
