Default PR update coming? - 05-09-2007, 05:28 PM

Whew! The PR of my long-established website whose homepage is PR5 (with some
internal pages 6 & 7), is suddenly showing a PR0, sitewide.

I wonder if a PR update is on the way (sure hope so!).

hmmm i just checked it with this tool: http://livepr.raketforskning.com/
and see PR0 on some datacenters and PR5 on others. Sure seems like
something's afoot at Google.

A site can drop to a 0 when a penalty has occurred. Doesn't mean their is a
update in progress.

For reasons yet unknown (although we have our suspicion...), Google is
currently returning the Live PageRank value of zero (0) for any and
all pages. This kind of breaks this tool in the way that it no longer
displays your Live PageRank, but you can still use it for checking
Toolbar PR across datacenters

Yes, Paul, way back when the tool used to show "live pagerank" - but now it
shows the various toolbar pageranks from all the various datacenters.

I'd be shocked if this site had been penalized. It's a well-established
400-page site on a niche topic, (may be considered an "authority site"),
6-years old, with thousands of relevant backlinks, validates 100%, and uses
good solid on-page SEO techniques. Links out only to high-quality, relevant
sites. There's nothing to penalize.

best,
indie.

Okay.
Thought it may explain why you are seeing PR0
I checked my sites and I see no change.
PR update is well overdue but with the recent problems, it could be
put back.
Then again, they may have taken a snapshot when they did the
recrawling, in which case it should happen about 2-3 weeks from when
they did it. Lets hope.

I checked 12 of my other sites too and only saw changes on this one. But
this may be the beginning of something & I'm going to keep an eye on it.
You're right, a PR update is about due any moment now ~~ crossing my
fingers.

Well then hope it is a glitch.
