Default Directories - 02-25-2008, 01:50 AM

I know there are blog directories but are there directories for forums as well? Since blog directories can help build traffic, might they also help forums grow?

Just a thought!

Yes there are a few actually. Many of them are link directories, but there are actually a few decent ones specifically geared towards forums. I'm not sure if I can post the site name here, but if you do a google search for, the first one on the list is one that has been around for a while.

I didn't realise there were such a thing.

I've just tried to find my favourite forum on the top listed one, and can't. It's a fairly large one. So how do forums get listed in a directory?

here is a very useful beginners guide to Directories and getting listed on them, from one of my fave sites The Admin Zone. The guide is written by one of their admins, a chap who really knows what he is talking about.

Hope this link is ok to post admin, if not please remove and accept my apologies.

Yep, that's a good site, some of the other sites out there only list you if you have a certain amount of posts on your forum.

There are many useful directories available for directory submission, article submission, PR submission, social bookmarking and more. These are all helpful for build links.
