You are on the right track. Know your keyphrase competitors.
Don't worry so much about link building but concentrate on your own
content, including the internal linking structure. Your internal links
can be of more value than any incoming link.
Content. Quality content should be your goal. Make a web presentation
for the visitor first and if you do it right, it pleases the SE too.
