I'm planning to make an entertainment forum,.
Any tips before proceeding on my plan?
Any advice that I must follow or think first?

What kind entertainment that you targetting. Movies, TV series, gaming or you combine all of this? Dont forget to invite as I love to talk about movies.

Entertaining would be in various ways but make it really interesting so that everyone would really love to share their views. Movies and Games would be the best to discuss.

One thing I would add to an entertainment forum which I havent seen done yet is to have a area where people can post if seeing a celebrity. Then can also add if they have been to a place where a movie was shot or was being shot. People can say hey I saw Hillary Clinton picking her nose while visiting Times Square something like that. Also to get things really moving I would put contests for movie tickets, dinners, and gift certificates. Another thing that would be fun is after a certain amount of posts you can be knows as a superstar and before that you can make the ranks of a B movie star, water boy, has been kind of titles before you make it to superstar.

That seems to be a good idea Lexio71. Some pictures would be very much entertaining but needed to be rare pictures. Funny pictures would be best or funny cartoon pictures would be even more good.

A blog comments are a good way to get some traffic. Posting on other entertainment blogs with your url in your sig is a great tool.

You can run contests linked to specific forum activities. Ugliest photo of the week, worst plastic surgery...all sorts of subjects can create activity!

Entertainment is always a great way to go, but it might be a little to broad. Maybe you should narrow it a little bit. That doesn't mean you have to eliminate things, but just focus on some things more than others. For example, do you have a favorite type of movie or music or tv show? Maybe you could start there...

With entertainment forums, you would need a main subject. You should consider which type of entertainment the forum would be focusing on.

You should also have youtube or video embedding enabled so that users could post videos that they found entertaining.

I would say, more than useful threads, you need threads that are interesting to people. With entertainment, they are probably current entertainment news type of things. If you keep up with that, there will always be something to talk about.
