I love Lexio's idea of enabling users to post their own celeb shots & sightings.

I agree with the previous posters though, the field of entertainment is a very broad one & might be too large to cover in one forum. I'd choose one area (music industry / TV & film .....) & start with that. You can always expand it in the future.

The trouble is also, that there are more entertainment/movie/music type forums on the net already than any other kind, so unless you have some specific 'hook' to get the punters in, you'll have a hard job making a go of it.

I love entertainment forums! But how do you find material that no-one else has already done? I guess a lot of times it is just putting your own spin on things.

Be broad. Concentrating on one subject is where a number of forums fall down. If you want to make an entertainment forums, discuss lots of different types of entertainment.

Advertising is important! Put the link in your signatures on forums, on the web, submit to all the search engines you can and get your friends and family to come to the forum and check it out.

The number of forums is very important also, if you have 50 boards starting off you're going to end up with 1 or 2 posts in each and the forum is going to look VERY empty. Start off with a small numbers of boards so you have posts coming in to the same place and it looks popular, then expand the number of boards as the site grows.

I usually find things like "bad plastic surgery" and"horrible make up" shots can create a little buzz without feeling too repetitive. Posting the picture and then commenting can yield tons of responses.

Looking through celebrity blogs for ideas works well too.
