Default What kind of forums do you like? - 02-12-2008, 11:29 PM

For those of us who love to be in forums, what kind of forums do you look for? I especially like ones about celebrity gossip, make-up tips and cooking.

Gossip or celebrity forums usually crack me up, but they are not my favorites. Skin care and cosmetics forums run neck and neck with political forums, for me.

I find myself gravitating to a number of forums. Usually video game forums or forums about forums like this one. I am also an avid member at parenting forums.

Parenting forums are really interesting, but sometimes the parents scare me to death. I am constantly amazed how little thought some parents give to their expectations for their kids vs. the reality of being a fully capable human. EEK!

I like parenting forums, but they tend to lean more toward parents with smaller children. Mine are big and I still have questions, especially about teenagers that don't listen, and I have a hard time finding people who can relate.

I thought about the places I go to most, and it's quite surprising the range..

Apart from my forum which is for a football club (soccer to you yankees ) I also visit other rival fanzines, and also go along to some from rival clubs, for banter and information exchange prior to games.

There are a couple of general chat type places set up by friends that I go to a lot, just for general news and chit chat..

I spend a lot of time on the BBC online, for national and international news and sports, and they have a sports forum called 606, which can be entertaining in a 'car crash' sort of way...

Couple of movie review type places, and a dedicated music forum.

I find the Admin Zone forums a great help when i am looking for information regarding running my forum.

I am afraid i don't do farcebook and myemptyspace or bobo type stuff.. Too old I guess!

I didn't even know there was anything like Admin Zone, but I guess that one is very helpful for people who have questions about moderating and things like that. I am sure it is helpful to have other people to talk to.

I've found them very helpful, and packed with experts on all aspects of running a forum, and the problems that arise. I found them by accident when i was searching for info on a mail suffix I'd never seen before that looked legit, but I was suspicious that it might be a spammer.. (i was right!)

I like forums which there's plenty of chat going on and which cover a wide range of viewpoints. Parenting forums normally fit the bill. I'm put off when the topics become too specialised or the membership seems 'closed' to newcomers.
